IMPORTANT NOTES, PRECAUTIONS & COMMON TROUBLESHOOTING TECHNIQUES
Important Notes
Not all Chillers have the heating option. If you purchased the heating option your chiller will also heat. If you did not, your chiller will only cool.
To preserve the lifespan of your Chiller, we recommend limiting run time to 8 hours per day. It can be used longer than this, however, doing so will require more frequent filter changes, maintenance and higher energy consumption.
Filter can last between 5 days and 6 months depending on multiple factors including: How often the system is used, the environment it is used in, the water quality of the area, etc. Please do not be alarmed if your filter only lasts a few days. Different areas of the United States & the world create different environments for the filters. Further, some filters last longer than others and some filters can be defective. Lastly, please refrain from using 3rd party filters found online. Although they may seem similar, our filters were specifically designed for our chillers and we are not responsible for any damages other filters may cause to the cooling unit. Please, never hesitate to reach out to one of our team members with any questions regarding filter replacement.
Any after market modifcations, accessories, replacement parts may void your warranty. Please take precaution when making any changes that were not designed by Eu4ric Wellness engineering team.
Our chiller has a built in filtration system. However, if you want to use a cleaning product with your chiller to prolong water life please contact us for specific product recomendations that are safe for your chiller.
Please do not use Chlorine or other harsh chemicals with your chiller. Overtime they will cause damage to the internal elements of the chiller. Doing so will void your warranty.
If you experience any issues with your chiller, including error codes, not cooling, not pumping water, etc. Please do not try to resolve issues on your own as you can damage the unit and void warranty. We know you are excited, but please wait for our instructions. We will do our best to reply within 24-48 hours. Please keep in mind we have 1000s of customers and it may take us a few days to get to your inquiry and find the solution. Troubleshooting can be frusterating and time consuming but please be patient with us as we try to diagnose any issues and give directions on fixing them. Although many issues may be easily fixable and could be performed in minutes, when it is thorugh email, and done virtually it can take time to troubleshoot error codes. So again, please be patient with us, we want you to be off and running as quickly as possible, so lets work together to get you Cold Plunging as fast as possible. The best way to contact us for any troubleshooting issues is through our email at info@eu4ric.com. Please provide a detailed video of what you are experiencing.
If any parts and accessories are damaged during shipping, notify us immediately. We offer shipping protection insurance through Route and Extended Warranty through Xcoverage. If you did not purchase these items and experienced damage or loss during shipping we will do our best to help you resolve the situation.
We are not liable for any misuse of the machine or potential hazards from where you place your machine. Use your best judgement when choosing a set up location. Away from pools, bodies of water, delicate flooring, other safety hazards, where children play, etc. Example: if you place your machine over hard wood flooring and water damages the hard wood, we are not liable for that damage. Remember, this is a large body of water. Accidents can happen. Please use precaution.
WATER PUMPING TROUBLE SHOOTING
When you turn on your chiller for the first time. If after 2-3 minutes, the water is not pumping through your machine and entering into the tub at a constant flow rate, please turn off your chiller and follow the directions below. Sometimes air is stuck in the pump and it needs to be released. This can happen during the first use or when the chiller has be stored for long periods. If you try to leave it running it can damage the compressor. If the directions below do not resolve the issue, please contact us. If the water is not pumping and flowing at a good rate, it is most likely that 1) you have air stuck in the chiller or 2) you need to change your filter. This trick fixes the air issue 99% of the time. If it does not, please notify us so we can give further direction.
Find the “outlet” hole on the chiller. This is the hole that is NOT connected to the filter. Follow the tube that is connected to the outlet of the chiller toward the tub. At the inside hole on the tub that this tube is connected to we want to push water backwards into the chiller. You can do this by placing a hose up against this hole on the inside of the tub and turning it on. Allow 30 seconds for it to fill the chiller. Once the chiller is backfilled with water try turning on your chiller again and it should start pumping water.
A few notes:
1. When you do this trick turn off the chiller
2. Make sure your hoses are not bent or kinked
3. Make sure all NPTs and Clamps are tight to ensure no air leaks
4. Make sure filter is full with water and filter housing is screwed tightly
5. Make sure chiller vents on back are not right up against the wall (Needs to be able to breathe)
6. Make sure chiller fan isn’t right up against the wallIf you think the water flow is not strong or you have more issues after this, please let us know.
WHEN TO CHANGE YOUR FILTER
Your filter will tell you when it is time to be changed. Signs your filter needs changing:
1. Water begins to pump slower
2. Chiller begins making loud suction noises
3. Filter looks dirty or brown
4. Water stops pumping completely or won't start to pump
NOTE: Please ensure that your filter is situated in the correct position in the filter housing and ensure that the filter housing is completely screwed in flush.

WARNING: THE USE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS CAN GREATLY INCREASE THE RISK OF FATAL HYPOTHERMIA IN TUBS.1.3 Tub Specifications1.4 HypothermiaProlonged immersion in cold water may induce hypothermia. While it is important to keep our bodies properly warm, it is equally important for us to be able to cool down. But in certain environmental conditions our bodies cool down too much. Our temperatures drop too far when they dip into hypothermic internal temperatures of 95 degrees and lower. There are four main ways that our bodies give off heat and cool themselves: conduction, convection, radiation and evaporation. Each of these processes helps us sustain healthy internal temperatures. They also give us a better understanding of how hypothermia happens. When someone’s re-warming reactions, like shivering, aren’t enough to overcome the cooling process, hypothermia can set in. Look for several important signs indicating the different stages of hypothermia. Mild Hypothermia: shivering, goose bumps, difficulty with complex motor skills Moderate Hypothermia: violent shivering, sluggish, speech problems, difficulty with fine motor skills Severe Hypothermia: rigid muscles, dazed, shivering has stopped, blue skin, erratic heart beat, unconscious1.5 Installation InstructionsSITE PREPARATION Make sure you ensure the following: Always put your tub on a structurally sound, LEVEL surface. A filled tub can weigh a great deal. Make certain that the location you choose can support the weight of your filled tub. Position equipment compartment which houses all of the electrical components in a place where your will have easy access for periodic tub care and maintenance. Allow adequate access to all other access panels for service.OUTDOOR GROUND LEVEL INSTALLATION No matter where you install your new tub, it’s important that you have a solid foundation for support. If using patio stones, they should be at least two inches thick and twelve inches square. Even with stones in place, the tub will possibly settle and become uneven, and may require re-leveling over time.Deck Installation To be certain your deck can support your tub, you must know the deck’s maximum load capacity. Consult a qualified building contractor or structural engineer. To find your tub refer to the Tub Specification chart. This weight per square foot must not exceed the structure’s rated capacity, or serious structural damage could result. WARNING! All electrical hookups ( except where cords with built in GFCI are supplied by Eu4ric Coldtub™ must be performed by a licensed electrician!Do not turn on power to the tub until the tub is filled to the required level. Running the pump without water could cause immediate damage and void your warranty!Eu4ric Cold Tub System™ MUST BE WIRED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL RELEVANT LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES. ANY ELECTRICAL TASKS SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY A SKILLED AND LICENSED ELECTRICIAN, AND APPROVAL SHOULD BE OBTAINED FROM THE LOCAL BUILDING/ELECTRICAL INSPECTION AUTHORITY. WE STRONGLY ADVISE THE USE OF APPROPRIATE ELECTRICAL CONDUIT, FITTINGS, AND WIRING FOR ALL CIRCUITS. CAUTION: Modifying or circumventing any Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter breaker will render the ice bath unsafe and will nullify the warranty of the equipment.IMPORTANT: In the event that you need to relocate your Eu4ric Cold Tub System™, it is crucial to comprehend and adhere to these installation prerequisites. PRIOR TO FILLING THE ICE BATH, GENTLY WIPE THE INTERIOR SURFACE CLEAN USING A SOFT CLOTH.The following instructions must be followed exactly to ensure a successful start-up or refill. 1) Ensure the electrical connections have been made in accordance with this manual.2) Fill the tub with water until water level reaches to half way up. Watch for any sign of leaks that may have been caused by shipping. 3) Once filled to the proper level, turn the power to the tub on by plugging it in and pressing the Reset button on the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter breaker. Watch the display on the topside control. After power-up, the display will blink until a key is pressed. This feature is to let you know that the set point and other system parameters are at their default settings. 4) The jet pump, cooling system and all internal plumbing will achieve a partial prime as the tub is filled. Once the tub is full, turn each pump on to complete prime. Once the jet system is fully operational (as indicated by strong, non-surging jets), priming of the tub is complete. Weak or surging jets are an indication of a low water level condition or clogged filter cartridges. 5) Adjust the chemicals and balance the water according to your dealer’s instructions. A guideline is also included in this manual, under the Water Maintenance Section. 6) Set the temperature control to the desired temperature (as low as 42ºF - 5.5ºC), then place the vinyl cover on the tub and allow the water temperature to stabilize (approximately 16 hours). Make sure you secure the cover in place using the cover locks. Periodically check the tub water temperature.7) Fill the tub • Test total alkalinity (TA)- it should be between 120-150. if it is high use Cold water Rundown to lower the TA. If it is to low use Cold water Balance to raise the TA. • Test Ph - it should be between 7.2- 7.6. If it is to high use Run Down to lower the Ph. If it is too low use Jump to raise it. • Add Sodium chloride Dead Seasalt according to this chart. • Use Cold Water Sanitizer any time the water is “heavily used” or any time it looses clarity. • Test and adjust sanitizer level (Chlorine ideal 1 - 3 ppm). 8) You may raise the water temperature by pressing the TEMP ( ) button on the control panel, or lower it by pressing TEMP ( ) button. After a few hours, the water temperature will remain within one degree of your selected temperature.1.9 Water Maintenance QRC1.10 Venturi Controls1.11 Topside Control PanelIMPORTANT: BEFORE PERFORMING ANY SERVICE ON THE TUB. HOWEVER, THE LONGEVITY OF YOUR ICE BATH AND ITS DISTINCT ELEMENTS WILL BE DECIDED BY THE CARE AND UPKEEP ROUTINE YOU ADOPT. FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WILL AID YOU IN SAFEGUARDING YOUR INVESTMENT.DRAINING THE WATER Accumulation of detergent residues, dissolved solids from bathing suits, and chemicals will gradually amass in your ice bath's water. Typically, within approximately three months, the water's balance will become challenging to maintain, necessitating replacement. To mitigate detergent residue, consider showering without using soap before entering the ice bath or utilizing only the rinse cycle when laundering your swimwear. However, foam-related issues are more often a result of the buildup of organic pollutants in the water, primarily from body oils. If your ice bath is frequently used with a substantial number of bathers, water replacement will need to occur more frequently. Over time, water quality diminishes due to accumulations of pollutants that cannot be filtered out. TO DRAIN YOUR ICEBATHDeactivate the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter breaker by unplugging the tub from the wall and keeping the plug and chiller away from water. located in the sub-panel or the quick disconnect. All Eu4ric Cold Tub System™ will need to be installed outside and we recommend purchase of a pump if you need to drain the water properly. units feature an external drain designed to accommodate a standard garden hose for convenient drainage. Locate the drain on the floor's side, pull out the nozzle, remove the cap, and attach your hose. Once the hose is connected, gently push the nozzle inward to open the internal valve, initiating the drainage process. Note: Virtually all Eu4ric Cold Tub System™ models will effectively drain through the drain outlet. Components such as pumps and water coolers will also drain. Any residual water within the plumbing or equipment post-drainage will only require removal if the ice bath is being prepared for winter.Upon complete emptying, assess the interior surface and clean as necessary.Close the drain valve securely.Replenish the ice bath PRIOR to restoring power.IMPORTANT! Remember to change your water every three to four months.IMPORTANT! Replace your filters every couple weeks when in use. Disposable filters can last a maximum of 3 months under minimal usage. Replacement filters can be purchased online.CARE OF THE SHELL Your Eu4ric Cold Tub System™ features a reinforced flexible PVC vinyl that is inherently resistant to stains and dirt adhesion. Generally, the tub's surface is easily cleaned using a gentle cloth or sponge. It's important to note that most household cleaning agents can harm the integrity of the tub's shell, so it's advised not to use them. For minor surface cleaning, options like baking soda or vinegar can be employed. After using any cleaning agent on the tub shell, always ensure a thorough rinse with fresh water. SERVICE NOTE: Using alcohol or non-listed household cleaners to clean the shell surface is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED. AVOID utilizing cleaning products containing abrasives or solvents, as they could potentially harm the shell's surface. Please be aware that damage to the shell due to the use of aggressive chemicals is not covered under the warranty.WINTERIZING If you plan to leave your tub unused in severely cold weather, you should drain the tub and add RV antifreeze to avoid accidental freezing. For assistance contact tech support. Damage due to freezing is not covered under and can void warranty. TO RESTART TUB Reinstall the filter cartridges; close the drain valve. Follow the Start-up and Refill procedures.VINYL COVER The vinyl tub cover is an attractive, durable vinyl. Monthly cleaning and conditioning are recommended to maintain its beauty. To clean and condition the vinyl cover: 1. Remove the cover from the tub and gently lean it against a wall. 2. With a garden hose, spray the cover to loosen and rinse away dirt or debris. 3. Using a large sponge and/or a soft bristle brush, and a very mild soap solution or baking soda, scrub the vinyl top in a circular motion. Do not let the vinyl dry with a soap film on it before it can be rinsed clean. 4. Scrub the cover’s perimeter and side flaps. Rinse clean with water. 5. Rinse off the underside of the cover with water only (use no soap), and wipe it clean with a dry rag.1.14 Water MaintenanceMaintaining clean water is of paramount importance. Water maintenance is an aspect of tub ownership that is often overlooked but holds great significance. Your dealer can provide guidance on achieving and sustaining pristine water conditions in your tub, considering your local circumstances. Your maintenance routine will hinge on factors such as your water's mineral composition, frequency of tub usage, and the number of users.General Guidelines Water maintenance encompasses three core aspects: (1) Water Filtration, (2) Water Sanitation, and (3) Chemical Balance/pH Control. While your filtration system diligently removes particles from the water over several hours, it does not eliminate bacteria or viruses. The owner bears the responsibility for water sanitation, achievable through regular and periodic (possibly daily) addition of an approved sanitizer. This sanitizer serves to chemically manage the presence of bacteria and viruses in the tub water. Inadequately sanitized water can swiftly foster the growth of these microorganisms.Regulating the water's chemical balance and pH level is also the owner's duty. You'll need to introduce chemicals to sustain proper levels of Total Alkalinity (TA) and pH. Maintaining an appropriate water balance and pH level minimizes scale accumulation, metal corrosion, extends the tub's lifespan, and optimizes the sanitizer's efficacy.Testing Water Methods Follow these steps to test and balance the water:Begin by adjusting the Total Alkalinity (TA) between 80 and 120 ppm using Cold Water Balance to raise TA and Cold Water Run Down to lower it.Subsequently, adjust the pH to fall within the range of 7.2 to 7.6. Employ Cold Water Jump to elevate pH and Cold Water Run Down to decrease it.Once TA and pH are balanced, you can accurately test and adjust the sanitizer level. Aim for a Chlorine concentration between 1 and 5 ppm. To instantly elevate Chlorine levels, incorporate Cold Water Sanitizer. Gradually increase Chlorine in the Eu4ric Cold Tub System™ using tablespoon measurements. For the automated Sea Salt Sanitize system, add 1/2 cup of Dead Sea Salt for every 50 gallons of water in the tub. Only introduce salt to fresh water when filling the tub from empty or after significant water loss. Utilize test strips to measure salt content and adjust it to range between 1800 and 2200 ppm. Should the salt surpass 3000 ppm, drain some water and refill to dilute the concentration and prevent corrosion of metal components.IMPORTANT! Always read and carefully follow the directions included with the test kit or test strips to ensure the accuracy of the test results.1.15 Basic Chemical SafetyWhen handling chemicals, it's crucial to read labels attentively and adhere to instructions precisely. While chemicals are protective when used correctly, they can pose hazards in concentrated form. Always abide by the following guidelines:• ALWAYS KEEP CHEMICALS OUT OF CHILDREN’S REACH. • NEVER MIX CONCENTRATED CHEMICALS TOGETHER. • ALWAYS THOROUGHLY RINSE ANY CONTAINER USED FOR MIXING CHEMICALS AFTER USE. • ALWAYS RINSE OUT ANY EMPTY CHEMICAL STORAGE CONTAINER BEFORE DISPOSAL. • Accurately measure the specified quantities—avoid overdosing the tub. Required amounts will vary based on water conditions; the suggested quantities are merely guidelines. • Store chemicals in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space. • Keep chemical containers closed when not in use. • Avoid inhaling fumes or letting chemicals contact your eyes, nose, or mouth. • Wash your hands immediately after handling chemicals. • Follow emergency advice on the product label if accidental contact occurs. • Never smoke near chemicals—certain fumes can be highly flammable. • Refrain from storing any chemicals in the equipment compartment.ADDING CHEMICALS TO THE TUB To ensure proper dissolution, it's recommended to pre-mix all chemicals in a bucket of water before pouring the solution into the Eu4ric Cold Tub System™. Run the ice bath for 10 minutes after adding the solution before retesting.IMPORTANT "SUPER CHLORINATION/OXIDIZER SHOCK TREATMENT" Please note that after introducing chlorine or oxidizer to your ice bath, leave the cover open for at least 20 minutes to allow gasses to dissipate. Oxidizer gas could potentially cause discoloration or degradation of vinyl materials on the bottom of the cover and surrounding components near the tub's edge. This type of damage is considered chemical misuse and is not covered under warranty.THE Eu4ric Cold Tub System™ WATER MAINTENANCE PROGRAM Adhering to the Eu4ric Cold Tub System™ water maintenance program will save you time, prevent frustration, and ensure clear and clean water in your ice bath. As water evaporates from the ice bath and fresh water is added, the concentration of dissolved minerals will rise. Over time, the water might become excessively "hard," leading to potential damage to the heater due to mineral buildup on its surface.BALANCE THE TOTAL ALKALINITY (TA) • The recommended Total Alkalinity (TA) for your tub water is 80-120 ppm. • Total Alkalinity is a measure of the total levels of carbonates, bicarbonates, hydroxides, and other alkaline substances in the water. TA is referred to as the water’s “pH buffer”. In other words, it’s a measure of the ability of the water to resist changes in pH level. • If the Total Alkalinity is too high, the pH level will tend to be high and may be difficult to bring down. It can be lowered by using Cold Water Run Down. • Once the TA is balanced, it normally remains stable, although some sanitizers, and the addition of more water with a high or low alkalinity will raise or lower the TA reading of the water. • When the Total Alkalinity is within the recommended range, proceed to the next step. BALANCING THE PH • We recommend a pH range for your water of 7.2-7.6. • The pH level is the measure of acidity and alkalinity. Values above 7 are alkaline; those below 7 are acidic. Maintaining the proper pH level is extremely important for: • Optimizing the effectiveness of the sanitizer. • Maintaining water that is comfortable for the user. • Preventing equipment deterioration. • If the water’s pH level is too low, the following may result: • The sanitizer will dissipate rapidly. • The water may become irritating to users. • The equipment may corrode. If the pH is too low, it can be increased by adding Jump to the water. • If the pH level is too high, the following may result: • The sanitizer will become less effective. • Scale will form on the shell surface and the equipment. • The water may become cloudy. If the pH is too high, it can be decreased by adding Run Down to the water. • It is important to check the pH on a regular basis. The pH will be affected by the bather load, the addition of new water, the addition of various chemicals, and the type of sanitizer used. • When the pH is within the recommended range, proceed to the final step. SANITIZE THE TUB Sanitizer is extremely important for killing algae, bacteria and viruses, and preventing unwanted organisms from growing in the tub. At the same time, you don’t want too high a sanitizer level, or it can irritate your skin, lungs and eyes. • Always maintain the sanitizer level in your tub at the recommended level for each type of sanitizer. IMPORTANT: Sanitizers are acidic and will decrease the TA. Regular testing, removal and changing of TA is extremely important with these products. IMPORTANT: Always remove the floating dispenser while the tub is in use. Remove dispensers with a plastic bucket and store out of reach of children until tub use has ended.IMPORTANT! Cold water oxidizer significantly reduces pH and TA. One hour after adding cold water oxidizer test and adjust TA and pH as needed.1.16 Quick Reference Guide STARTING PUMP Press the Pump key to turn Pump on at low speed. Press a second time to turn Pump to high speed. A third time turns Pump off. A built-in timer will shut Pump off. The Pump indicator lights up when Pump is on a high speed. It flashes when Pump is on at low speed. SETTING WATER TEMPERATURE Use Up or Down arrow key to regulate water temperature. The temperature setting will be displayed for 5 seconds to confirm your new selection. The “Set Point” symbol indicates the desired temperature, NOT the current water temperature! Water temperature can be adjusted by 1- degree increments from 42º to 104ºF (5.5º to 40ºC).
